Exploring the Lost City (hydrothermal field)

This spring, I'm joining a research team to explore the building blocks of life in the Lost City hydrothermal field in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Wait, what?! That's right, Space Case Sarah Treadwell and I will be serving as Onboard Outreach Officers on this amazing deep sea adventure and we will document all aspects of our expedition - from drilling core samples to life onboard a ship for 8 weeks! And we have plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in our expedition... 

We will be conducting ship to shore calls throughout our expedition, so sign up with your class, museum, or social group to have an opportunity to meet scientists and the ship's crew who will be working around the clock to explore the bottom of the ocean and unlock the secrets to huge astrobiology questions.
