I love student choice "Students write an exit slip identifying which variable they are most interested in exploring" This is something that we went over in PD today. THANKS FOR BEING AHEAD OF THE CURVE!!!
The vocab section is amazing! This will be good for our students who are English learners from the pictures, and the Description In your Own Words is exactly what myself and my science teacher are looking for our students to do.

Near-Earth Objects
Grade Level: High School
Students learn how near-Earth objects (NEOs) can threaten the planet. After identifying and categorizing NEOs through a citizen science exercise, students enter a simulation to save Earth from an incoming asteroid. Students work in teams to divert the asteroid through an interactive app that features critical thinking, mathematics modeling, and competitive team building.

TardigradesGrade Level: Middle School
Students take on the role of a astrobiologist whose mission is to learn about extremophiles and the resiliency of tardigrades. After modeling the effects of radiation on tardigrade survival, students investigate the effect of temperature, hydration, or space vacuum on tardigrade survival using the experimental design process. Students will explore the scientific method through experimental design and will learn how to analyze their results to draw conclusions about tardigrade space resiliency and the potential advance of human space exploration.

Falling StarsGrade Level: Elementary School
Learn about the lifecycle of satellites and the Falling Stars probes. In this lesson plan, students will discover how these satellites are affected by the orbit, velocity, altitude, and density of the atmosphere. Students will also learn how scientists and engineers work together using critical thinking, data, scientific modeling, and inquiry to engineer satellites.

Robotic SatellitesHigh school and elementary school lessons that engage students with hands-on activities to demonstrate orientation and positioning.
|
Value of SpaceMiddle school project-based lessons designed to get students thinking about the value of space and relevance to their lives.
